Young journalists investigate a defining issue for the 21st Century: The Working Poor. Millions of working American families live dangerously close to the poverty line. Some struggle below the poverty line despite their employment. During the next 12-weeks budding journalists will explore some of the most difficult questions about what it means to be working poor in America. What does it mean to be “living poor” in America? What is the meaning of “work” when a wage isn’t quite enough? What resources are available to help families make ends meet? What is the reality for individuals and families as they attempt to weather difficult economic times? There may not be adequate answers to the questions we ask. Nevertheless, we hope to introduce our readers and viewers to a defining issue for the 21st Century.
I love seeing you people taking an interest in what is going on in the world today. After all, they are our future. Keep up the good work..
